Tailormade Workshops

For the past five years, Tailormade Workshops have been running unique theatre schools for amateur companies throughout the UK.

Now it’s your society’s turn to benefit from the tuition of top directors/choreographers Scott St Martyn and Martyn Knight. These two former West End performers will tailor the workshops to suit your needs. Sessions can be spread out over 1, 2 or 3 days with process starting from less than £10 per person.

If you are interested in staging a workshop in your area and would like to discuss it further then please contact us today.

Typical Workshop would include the following modules:

Vocal and Physical Warm-up - A chance to break down barriers and form a rapport with your tutors and fellow students

Improvisation – Your tutors will use their many years experience to guide you through several different scenarios encompassing contrasting emotions and will enhance the art of working as a group.

Chorus Movement – Having spent many years working on top West End shows, Scott and Martyn are well versed in dealing with large choruses. The fun packed session is hard work but very rewarding and include routines from the Hot Mikado, The Gondoliers and State Fair.

Audition Technique – Surely one of the most daunting experiences for an amateur performer, your tutors will endeavour to guide you over the main hurdles and obstacles that you may encounter on your big day. You also have the option to participate in a dummy-run audition and subsequently receive individual tuition coupled with constructive criticism.

Other modules available include Mine, Voice, Make-up, Beginners Tap and many more.

Read of what one converted society chairman had to say following their workshop!

“What a pleasure it was meeting you on Saturday last at our workshop day. Everyone who attended had a really good educational time. You and Martyn work so splendidly together and are a really great double act. You seem to bounce ideas one from the other all the time – but I suppose that comes from doing these workshops on a regular basis. I am very hopeful that we will be arranging some more of these workshop days in the next few months. As I think they are extremely valuable – as well as being great fun!! I was impressed with the way you and Martyn handle people and can only assume that you are probably even more impressive when you have a show to direct.

We at BSAOS are settled with our Director for the next two autumn productions but after that who knows?!?Thank you once again for a great day!"
